Stefy by Aldo

Stefy is a sculptural gesture translated into comfort.
The collection, which comprises two products with different bases but a shared design language, stems from the desire to offer a chair that bridges the gap between the contract and domestic markets. Moving in this direction, the final product offers the structural and visual solidity that are fundamental requirements of the former, whilst at the same time managing to convey the strong sculptural and homely character typical of the latter.
Conceived as a single, continuous volume, the chair is shaped into two complementary sections that meet along a central perimeter—an intentional line that defines both structure and expression. This junction becomes more than a technical solution: it generates tension and release, giving the form a quiet dynamism while enhancing the sensation of being gently enclosed. Furthermore, it offers the possibility to the enveloping shell flows seamlessly into the seat, creating a protective, intimate space. Its proportions are generous yet controlled, balancing visual softness with a clear architectural presence. The oversized piping traces the entire profile like a deliberate stroke, accentuating the fluid geometry while adding a subtle chromatic contrast—an element that sharpens perception without interrupting harmony.
Set on a solid, monolithic base, Stefy achieves a refined equilibrium between lightness and stability. The base grounds the composition, allowing the upper volume to appear almost suspended, as if rotating around its own axis. From every angle, the chair reveals a different identity: compact and sculptural from afar, welcoming and tactile up close. This shifting perception is at the core of the project—Stefy is not just an object to sit on, but a presence that activates the space, continuously redefining itself through movement, light, and perspective.
